About Builder Ted Zmroczek
Founded in 1997, Stahr Homes brings you the award winning talents of Ted Zmroczek (zim-`rō-chek) and his 30 years of home building experience.
In establishing Stahr Homes, Ted sought to offer the best in luxury custom homes; Featuring choices in styles and amenities, personalized service, two way communications and the finest craftsmanship.
Stahr Homes limits itself to building 3 to 5 true custom homes per year. We do this so we can spend the proper amount of time with you during this important event in your life. Spacing our starts apart also allows for continuous quality assurance during each critical construction step.
Over three decades ago, Ted entered the construction field at its most basic level – framing houses and setting concrete forms. With a strong work ethic and clear aptitude for the job, he quickly advanced to home building project management and learned every aspect of building, sales, estimating, purchasing, and accounting. He served as president of Roger Smith Homes for 8 years before leaving to launch Stahr Homes.
Ted has been personally involved in the building and supervision of nearly 1000 homes in New Mexico and has earned the reputation of an expert builder. He has been a licensed contractor since 1986 and is also a licensed real estate broker. Ted holds a B.A. from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, majoring in History and Education.
Ted has also devoted 15 years of volunteer service to the Villa Santa Maria, a group home for abused children, serving 6 years as president of the board of directors. Other recent activities have found Ted coaching Little League softball and trying his hand in community theatre.
